Who is The Fantasy Baseball King?

The Fantasy Baseball King, circa 2005
Ahhh, those were the days....

HISTORY

An ex-semi-pro centerfielder and son of a former pitcher signed by the Philadelphia Phillies, Brian Smith has baseball in his blood. Coincidentally, his great-great-uncle was Harrison Samuel "Boss" Weeks, the captain and quarterback of the University of Michigan's famed "Point-a-Minute" teams, and winning quarterback in the first ever Rose Bowl, held in 1902.

Brian has blogged about fantasy baseball since 2006, when he started the popular advice column, Fantasy Baseball King. Catching the attention of industry insiders, Brian quickly ascended the ranks of fantasy bloggers and was eventually invited to join a well-known publication. Lethargy sadly roadblocked the young writer from potential stardom, and forgetfulness caused him to lose his unique URL ownership. Wounded, Brian retreated into a cave of solitude, where he entertained his past-time from afar, refusing to write. Then one day a leprechaun visited Brian during a lucid dream sequence, begging him to once again pick up the proverbial quill and parchment. And so, in early February 2011, Brian Smith returned to the world of fantasy baseball journalism. THE Fantasy Baseball King (dot. blogspot.com, etc) was born.

Since starting The Fantasy Baseball King blog, Brian has expanded, writing columns for numerous other sites (listed at the top of this web-page). He is happily married, speaks Japanese, and is currently earning his MBA degree.
